# Transcripts

> Full meeting transcripts with speaker labels and timestamps.

Every meeting in Fano Summary comes with a complete transcript — a word-for-word record of everything that was said, with speaker identification and timestamps.

## Viewing a transcript

1. Open a meeting from the sidebar.
2. Click the **Transcript** tab (next to Summary).
3. Scroll through the full conversation.

Each transcript entry shows:

* **Speaker label** — who said it (e.g., "Speaker 1", "Speaker 2")
* **Timestamp** — when in the meeting it was said
* **Text** — the transcribed speech

Click on any transcript segment to highlight it and jump to that point in the audio playback.

## Speaker identification

Fano automatically detects different speakers and labels them. Speaker labels appear as "Speaker 1", "Speaker 2", etc., based on voice detection.

<Info>
  Speaker labels are assigned based on voice characteristics. In meetings with many participants or cross-talk, speaker attribution may occasionally be imprecise.
</Info>

## Language detection

The transcript language is detected automatically based on what was spoken in the meeting. Fano supports multiple languages including English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.

This is independent of the **Summary Language** setting — your transcript reflects the actual spoken language, while summaries can be generated in your preferred language.

## Using transcripts with summaries

Transcripts and summaries work together:

* **Need the exact wording?** Check the transcript.
* **Need the gist?** Read the summary.
* **Want to verify a summary point?** Cross-reference with the transcript timestamp.

The audio playback bar at the bottom of the page lets you listen to any section alongside the text.
